Perigi Cari Timba.

Assalamualaikum wbt my dearest readers. I hope you guys are having an amazing day and in a good condition physically and mentally in shaa Allah.

So today I'm gonna share my opinion on: Perigi Cari Timba. It is one of the Malay idiom on translating the uncommon or unusual situation. Usually we use it in the matter of relationship between woman and man. Perigi means a well, while Timba is a tool that our ancestors use to get water in the well. The concept of the idiom is, we use the timba and go to the well to get the water. That is how it should work. You got the meaning of 'perigi' & 'timba' already right?

Commonly, a relationship assumed to be started by the boy. A boy should start making a move to make it happen. It's been that way since before that it will be something so bizarre for a girl to start hiting on a boy. Oh before you start reading further, this is a disclaimer. I never in support of relationship before marriage. What I mean is, boyfriend and girlfriend. Our society make it sound soooooo normal that it is uncommon anymore for a person to be without boyfriend/girlfriend. Islam doesn't recognise this kind of relationship. I said what I said. It would be the other way around if it is something that we call Taaruf. Maybe in another posting I will try to share on this matter.

Okay, so we go with the real deal here. My opinion on 'perigi cari timba' is definitely, nothing is wrong with that. I believe that every person deserve to love someone and to be loved by someone and if a girl like someone and intend to have a relationship with that person, why not. She might be attacked by conservative person with 'tak tahu malunya perempuan tu' or 'terdesak la tu sampai tak sabar nak tunggu lelaki tu make the first move', well, bear with that. Marriage is a good thing, sunnah even. So what is wrong with that? I think we all knows about the story of Khadijah RA, the first wife of Prophet Muhammad SAW, she is the one who make the first move. When she saw the good in Prophet SAW and intend to make him as her husband, she start it. But, but, remember again, she doesn't go straight away to Prophet and say, hey let's get married. She asks her respected friend,  Nafisah binti Munabbih to approach Prophet SAW on her behalf.

In Islam, there is no perigi cari timba. If you really interested in someone, go for it. In a right way of course. For me, okay je. You approach that person, cari tahu dia available ke tak, if he is available, then try to get to know each other, if not, move on je la. That's how the world is. I know, it's hard 😂 Oh, this is not applicable to a shy person. Shy person can never relate to this, even if their friends try to help, it just so hard hahaha. Just by thinking that the boy knows you like him is already crazy. Am I right?  Anyway, maybe next time I can share the exact story on how Saidatina Khadijah RA make her move on Prophet Muhammad SAW. In shaa Allah, till the next posting.

Love,
dD.
